In Japan, one of the world's leading piano countries, there are 1.6 million children who play the piano, but fewer than 10 of them can make a living solely as professional concert pianists. Kanna Tendou, a fifth grader, was the best elementary school pianist in Japan. He couldn't excel in academics or sports, but that was fine. He had the best piano skills in the country, which allowed him to be the center of attention in class and silence the teacher.
One day, a transfer student named Koharu Sakura arrived in the neighboring class. As expected, she became the target of bullying in class due to her inability to read the atmosphere. By chance, Kanna ended up teaching her piano, and he noticed a certain talent she possessed.
Then, a year later, an event occurred that reversed the positions of Kanna and Koharu.
